Jaecoo and Omoda hit 100,000 sales in the UK

The new Chinese marques have sold 100,000 vehicles after less than two years of being available in the UK market

Omoda and Jaecoo have expanded their SUV range, with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and full-electric offerings available

Chinese marques Jaecoo and Omoda have amassed sales of 100,000 cars in the fiercely competitive UK market.

This rapid expansion has seen the two closely related brands claim a combined market share of nearly 5.7 percent for new vehicle registrations, with the popular but flawed Jaecoo 7 SUV leading the way.

More remarkable is the timescale in which these two marques, both part of the giant Chery Automotive Group, have achieved such a volume of sales.

Omoda first arrived in the UK at the end of August 2024, with Jaecoo entering at the beginning of 2025.

It means the two new-entrant companies have accelerated from zero to 100,000 sales in less than two years.

They have also established 144 dealerships across the country, and rapidly expanded their model ranges.

Jaecoo 7 tops the sales charts

When Omoda launched in 2024, the Omoda 5 and its electric E5 counterpart were its first offerings. The Omoda 5 SUV has now amassed more than 36,500 sales, with 71 percent of these bought by private retail customers.

The company’s lineup now includes the Omoda 5, Omoda 7 and Omoda 9 SUVs. Customers can select from hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully electric powertrains, depending on the model chosen.

Similarly, Jaecoo debuted with the Jaecoo 7 SUV. Since September 2025, it has consistently featured in the list of top new vehicle registrations

Some 53,000 examples of the Jaecoo 7 have found homes across Britain since it was launched, with 75 percent purchased by private buyers.

As with its sister Omoda brand, Jaecoo now offers customers three different sizes of family SUV, along with a variety of powertrain options.

Changing the UK’s automotive landscape

Gary Lan, CEO of Omoda and Jaecoo UK, said: “We have never shied away from the understanding that to be successful in the UK, it would require investing heavily in our people, our retailer network and the ownership experience. And we’ve done that since day one.

“When Omoda launched, followed closely by Jaecoo, our ambition was to create two brands capable of delivering exceptional value, innovative technology and outstanding customer experiences. Surpassing 100,000 vehicle sales in under two years is a significant milestone for everyone involved. It demonstrates the strength of that proposition, the dedication of our teams and partners across the country and the trust customers have placed in our products and long-term vision.

“The future is looking very bright for us here in the UK. The progress made over the past two years has created a strong foundation for sustained growth, and we remain focused on continuing to invest in building a business designed around the needs of British customers. That commitment remains unchanged.”
