New 2026 Volkswagen ID. 3 Neo to cost from £31,580

The revised Volkswagen ID. 3 Neo EV features a new look, along with an updated interior design with physical buttons

Three battery versions, along with a trio of trim levels, will be available when orders for the Volkswagen ID. 3 Neo begin

Volkswagen will begin accepting orders for the ID. 3 Neo this week. The electric hatchback features a new look inside and out.

Along with a redesign that aligns it with the rest of the German marque’s model range, the ID. 3 Neo also addresses much of the criticism levelled at the original ID. 3.

This means more physical buttons for the dashboard controls, along with an increased battery range when the car is fully charged.

In addition, all versions of the ID. 3 Neo offered at launch will be eligible for band 2 of the government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG) scheme.

The £1,500 discount is applied across the ID. 3 Neo lineup. This sees the entry-level Life model with a 50kWh battery reduced to £31,580.

ID. 3 Neo shaped by customer feedback

Volkswagen’s main external changes for the ID. 3 Neo include thinner LED headlights, more angular front bumpers and the deletion of black trim.

There is also a new paint colour called Norwegian Sea Blue – as seen here. This is the first major update for the ID. 3 since it originally went on sale in 2019.

On the inside, Volkswagen says it has listened to customer feedback and ‘fundamentally rethought’ the dashboard design and infotainment system.

Whereas the original ID. 3, like many contemporary Volkswagens, relied heavily on a central touchscreen, the Neo adds physical buttons and rotary dials as well.

Similar to the ID. Polo and ID. Cross, the 10.25-inch driver’s display and 12.9-inch infotainment screen can also be switched to a retro mode with classic-style dials.

Three battery options are available at launch, with 50kWh and 58kWh packs joined by a long-range 79kWh version. Each offers an improved range compared to its predecessor, with the 79kWh model capable of up to 390 miles.

Power outputs span from 170hp with the 50kWh battery, through to 190hp in 58kWh models. The maximum output of 231hp comes from the 79kWh pack.

The entry-level ID. 3 Neo Life costs from £31,580 with the 50kWh battery. This includes 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Moving up to £37,000 Style trim sees the 58kWh battery included as standard, along with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Matrix headlights, heated seats, a heated steering wheel and a heat pump.

A special Neo Style Launch Edition will cost £38,250. This comes with a panoramic sunroof, surround-view camera and electric front seats with a massage function.

UK sales of the Volkswagen ID. 3 Neo will commence on Thursday 13 August 2026.
