Porsche enthusiasts are running out of time to bid on a selection of classic vehicles, ranging from a Le Mans race car to a 1959 Porsche 108 tractor.
The ‘For the Love of Porsche’ event will see 24 Porsches cross the virtual auction block. The sale, curated through the Car & Classic online auction platform, celebrates some of Stuttgart’s greatest hits.
It represents the third time Car & Classic has staged a special ‘Collector’s Edition’ auction.
This time, the choice of Porsche as the featured marque coincided with the recent Megaphonics Porsche event, held at Boxengasse in Oxfordshire earlier this month.
All 24 auction vehicles, and one special charity item, are being sold against the clock, with bids ending from 17:00 on Saturday 8 August 2026.
Rare Pre-A Porsche Speedster for sale
One of the most eye-catching auction offerings is a genuine 1955 Pre-A Porsche 356 Speedster, said to be only the 344th Speedster to leave the Zuffenhausen factory.
This particular Porsche 356 was given an Outlaw transformation by the famous Emory Motorsport in the early 2000s. This led to 10 SCCA race starts, with both Rod and Gary Emory taking the wheel.
Imported to the UK in 2012, the Outlaw has been maintained by a Porsche 356 specialist, with the retro racer officially converted for road use.
Beneath its bespoke bodywork, the car’s origins as a 1955 356 Speedster mean it qualifies for a host of historic events, including the Mille Miglia.
Porsche 962: a true Le Mans legend
At the other end of the motorsport spectrum is a 1988 Porsche Kremer 962, raced in Group C endurance events, including the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Wearing its Kenwood livery, the 962 finished in ninth place overall, driven by Bruno Giacomelli, Kunimitsu Takahashi and Hideki Okada. The 962 was also driven by motorsport luminaries such as Mario Andretti and Derek Bell.
Although the 962 is likely to attract the biggest bids of all at ‘For the Love of Porsche’, there are more affordable cars up for grabs.
These include a 1978 Porsche 924 converted to Safari specification, along with a 2002 Porsche 911 996 convertible ready for summer motoring.
Showcasing stories and Porsche passion
Perhaps the most important item is the charity auction of a genuine steel bonnet from a Porsche 911 SC, which has been transformed into a piece of wall art.
Signed by Porsche legend and 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Richard Attwood, the proceeds from the sale of the bonnet will be donated to the Hope for Tomorrow charity.
