Vauxhall Grandland X review

From £24,600

The Vauxhall Grandland X shares its platform with the Peugeot 3008, which just happens to be one of the best family SUVs you can buy.

  • Vauxhall Grandland X
  • For: Equipment, price, efficiency
  • Against: Smallish boot, humdrum styling, dull interior
  • Verdict: Vauxhall’s Peugeot 3008 is far better than you’d think

The Vauxhall Grandland X shares its platform with the Peugeot 3008, which just happens to be one of the best family SUVs you can buy.

You don’t get the same avant-garde styling or bold interior, but in many other ways the Grandland X is essentially a 3008 with a Vauxhall badge.

Prices start from £24,000, and although the flagship Ultimate Nav and Business Edition Premium Nav models cost around £37,000, they offer all the equipment you could ever need.

There’s also a hybrid version that offers up to 35 miles of all-electric range, up to 300hp, and all-wheel drive.

There are three engines: a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol, a 1.5 turbodiesel and a 2.0 turbodiesel.

The 1.5 is the pick of the three, offering punchy performance, good levels of refinement and the best fuel economy.

There’s plenty of room in the cabin, but the luggage space falls behind some of its rivals.
