Stylish new Vauxhall Astra GSE Line ready for Paris debut

The new Vauxhall Astra GSE Line offers buyers sportier styling inspired by the hot Corsa and Mokka GSE models. Here's what you need to know

The Vauxhall Astra GSE Line will be officially launched at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, before going on sale in Spring 2027

Vauxhall is adding a high-specification version of the Astra to its model range, with the launch of the new GSE Line.

Due to make its public debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show next month, the Astra GSE Line will be offered in both five-door hatchback and Sports Tourer estate body styles.

The GSE Line trim level replaces the top-selling GS specification, and is inspired by Vauxhall’s sportier GSE models.

These include the rapid Corsa GSE hot hatchback and Mokka GSE SUV, which have kick-started a new era of Vauxhall performance cars.

Although the Astra is the first Vauxhall to receive the GSE Line treatment, we expect this specification to be rolled out across the range in time.

The new Astra features a new front bumper with bespoke GSE Line graphics, plus a set of 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

On the inside, you’ll find bright yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel, door inserts and centre armrest, helping to distinguish the GSE Line from more everyday Astras.

Sports seats with integrated headrests will be available for the GSE Line as an option, with aluminium pedals included as standard.

Other equipment from the current Astra GS model is carried over, including dual-zone climate control, split-folding rear seats and ambient interior lighting.

Born to be mild – for now

Drivetrain choices are also taken from the current Astra range, giving buyers the choice of petrol, hybrid or fully electric power.

The plug-in hybrid will be the most powerful GSE Line, although 195hp makes for mild rather than wild hot hatch performance. Vauxhall promises a full-fat 280hp GSE will join the range later in 2027.

Marc Fetzer, vice president of product at Opel-Vauxhall, said: “More dynamic, sharper, more attractive – what applies to the new Mokka GSE and Corsa GSE hot hatches is something we want our customers to be able to experience in our other cars as well.

“At the same time, we want them to have a free choice and be able to drive their preferred model with exactly the powertrain that suits their needs. Visitors to the Paris Motor Show will be able to experience first-hand how this extra sportiness is combined with maximum practicality for everyday use, as demonstrated by the new Vauxhall Astra GSE Line.”

Following its debut at the Paris Motor Show, UK sales of the new Vauxhall Astra GSE Line will start from spring 2027.
