Dacia Logan MCV review

From £8,495

The Dacia Logan MCV is Britain’s cheapest estate car. It's impossible to buy more space for less cash.

  • Dacia Logan MCV
  • For: Space, price, efficiency
  • Against: Cheap interior, dull to drive
  • Verdict: You can’t buy more space for less cash

The Dacia Logan MCV is Britain’s cheapest estate car.

Its 573-litre boot extends to 1,518 litres with the rear seats down, making the Logan the toast of the tip and a firm favourite of the flat-pack generation.

For some context, an Audi A6 Avant boasts a 565-litre boot, extending to 1,680 litres with the seats folded.

Not that Dacia is going to be stealing sales from Audi.

In basic Access form, the Logan MCV is a little short of kit. However, for an extra £1,000, the Essential adds air conditioning, central locking and electric front windows.

The Access is also limited to the 75hp 1.0-litre petrol engine, which is the weakest unit. The 90hp 1.0 turbo petrol is usefully gutsier – if still dull to drive.

Comfort trim completes the standard range, with the Logan MCV Stepway offered as a standalone model.

It’s the best looking version, but despite appearances, doesn’t offer any off-road ability.
