The C5 Aircross is the first Citroen to be designed from the ground up with the company’s ‘Advanced Comfort’ philosophy in mind – so it should be one of the most comfortable cars in this crowded family SUV class.
You know what? It is.
The clever suspension and cushion-soft seats create a refined and relaxing driving experience that’s more akin to a luxury car from a class or two above.
The trade-off is less than razor-sharp dynamics, but we applaud Citroen for such a single-minded approach to serenity.
The C5’s specification is equally good, with even entry-level Feel versions packing a generous level of kit. Flair and Flair Plus complete the trim levels, with buyers able to choose from a selection of thrifty petrol and diesel engines.
It’s even available in plug-in hybrid guise, which will do up to 34 miles in between charges.
Throw into the mix a large boot and adequate space for five adults, and you have the makings of a very good family SUV.
