One year’s insurance cover is being offered by car insurance provider ingenie – and because the firm fits black box technology, even that bargain one-off sum could be claimed back through good driving.
New Vauxhall Corsa revealed ahead of 2015 UK launch
Vauxhall and ingenie say up to £33 per quarter can be earned back with safe and sensible driving; progress is provided every 10 days or 40 miles so teens can check if they’re on target or not.
The £99 car insurance deal is being offered on the Corsa Limited Edition and Corsa Excite models; naturally, Vauxhall has some deals to buy the cars themselves too. The Excite is the cheapest, costing from £189 per month with, remarkably, just a £189 deposit.
The Corsa Limited Edition costs a bit more: £10 per month with a £10 steeper deposit, but 0% APR means overall costs will hardly be punitive.
Vauxhall Marketing Programmes manager Mark Pinkney was, for once, not exaggerating when he said it was “ground breaking news for young drivers, some of whom could still be paying upwards of £2000 for insurance when they’re 18.
“We wanted to provide young drivers who buy their cars through Vauxhall retailers with affordable insurance to help them get on the road.” The firm’s done just that; let’s just hope ingenie has a good car insurance package for them in year two and beyond.
