Toyota ‘youth’ brand Scion has revealed a new motorsport-inspired FR-S special edition at the New York Motor Show, complete with track-style look.
The FR-S Release Series 1.0 special edition sports a Yuzu exterior paint colour that’s pretty unmissable: a Yuzu is an East Asia citrus fruit and the paint of this is equally tart.
The Release Series 1.0 also features a custom aero kit, rear spoiler, TRD Quad Tip Exhaust System, TRD lowering springs and special side wing logo. It all looks very striking.
Inside, there’s a TRD steering wheel, gearlever and cargo mat, while climate control inside combines with HID headlights outside for an upmarket feel.
All cars also get a unique-number plaque (it’s an edition limited to 1,500 units) by the gearlever console.
Pretty appealing then, particularly for a list price of under $30,000. Which begs the question… if the US is getting a vivid new colour of our Toyota GT86/Subaru BZRZ equivalent, may we have a bright yellow option heading our way too?
And if we are, would you welcome it?
