Porsche has issued a worldwide recall for its 918 Spyder over fears that an electric wiring harness for the radiator fan could be spliced by a carbon-fibre component.
The manufacturer says the recall affects 47 cars in the UK, with owners being contacted by their dealers.
As part of the recall, affected vehicles will have to spend half a day in Porsche workshops where the wiring harness will be inspected.
Porsche says “the cause was identified following a detailed examination of complaints” – it’s not clear how many owners have already experienced issues relating to the wiring harness. Corrective measures were immediately taken in manufacturing.
A recall was issued for the Porsche 918 at the end of last year, over concerns about defective chassis components.
