The M25 will be pretty in pink next month when the annual Pink Car Rally orbits the London orbital to raise money for the Little Princess Trust.
The pink procession will be heading clockwise from Langley at noon on Saturday 6th September, stopping off at South Mimms services, before arriving at the Lakeside shopping centre to collect coins for the charity, which provides ‘real hair’ wigs for children aged 2-18 who lose their hair, primarily through cancer treatments.
After an overnight stay at Brands Hatch, the rally will then continue around the M25, aiming to be back in Langley at around 4pm on Sunday. It promises to be quite a spectacle, with other motorists tickled pink at the sight of hundreds of pink cars.
Can we expect an appearance from Lady Penelope in FAB1? Or maybe the Pink Panther in the Panthermobile?
Sali Gray, creator and organiser of the annual Pink Car Rally, said: “This is our 7th rally and I’m just as excited now as I was when I organised the first one. I would never have been believed, seven years ago, that we would be starting a leg of our rally at Brands Hatch.”
The organisers are planning a special ’secret stop’ along the way, with Gray revealing, understandably, very little: “I can’t say much about our ‘secret stop’ at the moment, but we’re hoping that our visit will be authorised and we’ll brighten up a few faces.”
