Ford C-Max faceliftFord will uncover a heavily facelifted C-Max range on September 17 – but appears unable to contain itself because it’s today issued a pretty revealing teaser shot.

The new C-Max may largely still be shrouded beneath a cover, but something is still clearly visible: the new Ford ‘Aston Martin’ grille is coming to the C-Max range.

Will this one big change have the transformative effect it’s already had on the Fiesta and Focus ranges? Given how worthy but understated the current C-Max is, Ford will certainly be hoping so.

Both five-seat C-Max and seven-seat sliding door Grand C-Max have been facelifted, said the firm, with changes extensive enough to see it call the facelift an ‘extreme makeover’.

How extreme? We’ll have to wait another day to find out, but Ford has said both C-Max models have been “given a boost to make them even better suited to the modern, active family”.

They’re also more refined, more practical and have more technology throughout: just what’s needed to complement the cars’ inherent spaciousness, comfort and versatility, reckons Ford.

The big reveal will be on 17 September but, even then, we’ll have to wait until late into the evening before the covers are fully pulled off – Ford operates a One Ford global policy these days so all regions have to be aligned before big debuts like this are made.
