Kia has revealed the first image of its new Ford Mondeo-rivalling Optima ahead of its full debut at the 2015 New York Motor Show.
The firm still isn’t actually saying much about the car itself, other than that it will have “multiple engine choices”, a bigger interior, “premium features from the class above and a number of technologies not previously offered on Kia’s best-selling D-segment saloon”.
The image release does confirm the new car will closely follow the look of the Kia Sportspace 2015 Geneva Motor Show car, though.
It does, of course, lack the Sportspace’s cool touring-style rear; perhaps that’s to follow later…
Here’s hoping Kia has worked had to bring the chassis and interior quality up to the standards of the crisp new looks: these were the weak areas of the current car.
We’ll have to wait to make a call on the former: on the latter, come back next week when we get our first poke-about the new Kia Optima at the 2015 New York Motor Show.
