The all-new Renault Twingo is now on sale in the UK, with prices starting from £9,495 and rising to £11,695 for the range-topping model.
The rear-engined, rear-wheel drive Twingo is available as a five-door for the first time and deliveries will begin from late September. Three versions are available – entry-level Expression, mid-range Play and top-trim Dynamique.
CO2 emissions as low as 95g/km
Power is sourced from either a 70hp SCe three-cylinder normally aspirated petrol engine or – available on the Dynamique model only – a 90hp three-cylinder turbo petrol unit. Dynamique models also benefit from Stop & Start, bringing CO2 emissions down to 95g/km for the SCe 70 and 99g/km for the TCe 90.
Taking the purchase price out of the question, the Dynamique SCe 70 is likely to be the most cost-effective Twingo to run, with a combined 67.3mpg, 12% BIK tax band, band A VED rating and insurance group 3 adding to the low CO2 emissions.
All new Renault Twingos fall below insurance group 3, with the exception of the Dynamique TCe 90 which – thanks to a 0-62mph time of 10.8 seconds, one that compares favourably with the standard 14.5 seconds – attracts an insurance rating of group 8.
Personalisation packs available from £100
An extensive range of personalisation options will allow customers to create their own look, with a number of ‘packs’ costing upwards of £100. All cars come with body-coloured bumpers, door handles and door mirrors, a rear spoiler and LED daytime running lights.
On the inside, all Twingos offer electric power steering, electric windows, remote central locking, speed limiter, height adjustable steering wheel, gear change indicator, folding front passenger seat, split-folding rear seat and three cup holders.
Safety equipment is similarly comprehensive, including Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, four airbags, front and rear head restraints and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The mid-spec Twingo Play adds the all-important air conditioning, height adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel, plus 15-inch black two-tone alloy wheels.
Dynamique models offer alternative 15-inch wheels, pinstripe shoulder-line decals, front fog lights, heated door mirrors, cruise control, lane departure warning system, leather steering wheel and gear knob, white instrument backlighting, a folding key and storage pockets in the rear doors.
Four year warranty and breakdown cover
All new Twingos will be covered by a four-year warranty and breakdown cover. Four years’ free servicing is also available when the car is bought on finance, or available separately for £229.
