Motoring Research writer Andrew Brady has scooped the prestigious headlineauto Rising Star of the Year Award in a glittering ceremony held in London last night.
Andrew, 22, accepted his prize in front of more than 200 fellow journalists and motor industry execs.
The latest gong comes less than two years after Andrew won the Guild of Motoring Writers’ Sir William Lyons Award: sounds like Andrew is already to need a bigger awards cabinet!
In honouring him with the headlineauto Rising Star prize, judges were looking for tomorrow’s must-read or must-watch writers and broadcasters; someone who “shows talent, an appetite for hard work and the ability to get to the core of the story”.
Andrew, who joined Motoring Research in 2013 after receiving a first class journalism degree at De Montfort University, impressed them with his strong news sense and ability to dig up an exclusive.
He’s finding working for Motoring Research and writing for its varied audience a continual, enjoyable challenge, particularly as the business continues to evolve and grow: Andrew is embracing the new opportunities presented to him with relish.
Andrew’s triumph is not the first time an MR writer has won the Rising Star of the Year Award, either: in 2012, Editor Sean Carson won the same prize at the event and has since gone on to lead the MR writing team.
From everyone here at MR, Andrew, well done!
