MINI boosts spec and launches new options for UK

MINI 2016 upgradesMINI has announced a number of new additions to the standard spec on its Hatch and Clubman models, including the introduction of new personalisation option packs exclusively for UK drivers.

It will also allow drivers to purchase MINI FlexiMile Insurance which will be able to accurately monitor the amount of miles driven. If they cover 6,000 miles or less in a year using FlexiMile they will be able to qualify for discounts in insurance.

MINI eCall works by calculating the angle and impact of an accident and how many seatbelts and airbags were used.

Using this data, it automatically places a call to the emergency services and allows the data to be shared with them.

MINI also announced that its highly popular Chili Pack will now include LED headlights and fog lights.

In addition, all-new option packs have been introduced: MINI Tech and MINI Yours. These will allow drivers to customise their MINI for less money than they would spend to purchase the products separately. MINI claim that these packs will increase the residual value of the car.

The MINI Tech pack comes with a head-up display and MINI Connected music system which features a 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system combining two under seat subwoofers with five mid-range speakers and five tweeters, all being fully compatible with Spotify.

The MINI Yours pack comprises of a Walk Nappa leather hand-stitched steering wheel and leather seat upholstery featuring a Union Flag embroidered into the headrest.

It also includes three choices of interior surfaces complete with additional interior lighting.
