Mercedes-Benz X-Class

Mercedes-Benz has announced its Nissan Navara-based pick-up will cost from £32,772 – with high-end models nudging £41,000. That’s including VAT, dropping the start price for business users to £27,310.

The posh pick-up is available with a Nissan-sourced 2.3-litre turbodiesel producing 163hp in X220d guise, or 190hp in twin-turbo X250d flavour. All UK models come with engageable four-wheel drive, while a six-speed manual gearbox is standard on the X220d models and a seven-speed auto on the X250d.

The entry-level X-Class Pure comes with black fabric upholstery, semi-automatic air con and a radiator grille with a matt-black finish. Moving up the range, the Progressive adds 17-inch alloy wheels, painted bumpers, a silver radiator grille and lighting for the front footwell, as well as exit lamps.

The top-spec Power features 18-inch alloys, added chrome, LED head and taillights, electrically folding door mirrors and Keyless Go as standard.

All models come with a seven-inch infotainment system featuring a rotary controller with touchpad, Bluetooth and DAB radio. Progressive and Power trims offer a multifunction leather steering wheel as well as automatic windscreen wipers with rain sensor.

No fewer than seven option packages are available, allowing buyers to customise their truck to their individual requirements.

The £1,345 (plus VAT) Style package, developed for the Power trim, includes privacy glass, electric rear windows, running boards, roof rails and 19-inch alloys.

Combining the Style package with the Progressive model at a cost of £2,190 (plus VAT) adds LED head and taillights, privacy glass, running boards, roof rails and 18-inch alloys.

As an interior pack for the Progressive model, Comfort package features eight-way electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seat with lumbar adjustment, climate control, leather seats, and a storage net for the passenger footwell (£1,235 plus VAT).

The Parking package, available on the Progressive and Power models, includes parking sensors and a 360˚ camera (£570 plus VAT).

Plus package is offered on the PURE model, and features parking sensors and load rail securing system (£700 plus VAT).

Winter package, available across all three trims, adds headed seats and washer fluid jets (£340 plus VAT), while Smoker package adds an ashtray for the cupholder and lighter in the 12V socket (£30 plus. VAT).

Those wanting to take their X-Class off-road may wish to spec a rear differential lock for £495 (plus VAT), while an extra 20mm of ground clearance is available for £220 plus VAT.

Three non-metallic paint choices are available as standard: Danakil Red, Chisana White and Granite Green; while metallic paint can be added for £510 plus VAT, with a choice of Kabora Black, Axinit bronze, Cavansite Blue, Bering White, Rock Grey and Diamond Silver.
