Selfridges Birmingham now has a new line in stock – a Mercedes-AMG A45 hot hatch. The new Mercedes-Benz pop-up shop is the latest in a run of temporary Merc car dealers that, last year, were visited by more than half a million people.

The new Selfridges Pop-Up is being jointly run by Mercedes-Benz Cars UK and local dealer Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham Central. The idea is to offer a brand experience in high-footfall areas, to those who many not ordinarily visit one of the firm’s dealers.
Interactive screens and brand experts are on hand to showcase the entire Merc range, and there’s also a novel ‘AMG sound experience’, as part of the Live and Loud celebration for 50 years of AMG. Visitors can hear a range of Mercedes-AMG engines road, including the F1 racer driven by Lewis Hamilton.
And for those itching to spend some cash, special Mercedes-AMG F1 caps are available to buy. If you’re even keener, you can arrange a test drive and take things further with a sales executive.
The 381hp hot hatch will be switched for a similarly outlandish Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4 on 2 October.
If you live in the West Midlands and want to visit the new Merc pop-up, though, you’d best be quick: it will only be there until 15 October. Opening hours are from 10am weekdays (to as late as 9pm on Thursday and Friday), 9am to 9pm on Saturdays and 11am to 5:30pm on Sunday.
