McLaren 675LTMcLaren is going to build 500 675LT road cars – and each will cost £259,500, the firm revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The pinnacle of its ‘Super Series’ cars, it will be the lightest, fastest and most powerful model in the range, with inspiration for the extended ‘longtail’ coming from 1997’s F1 GTR Longtail.

Both front and rear track are widened 20mm over the regular 650S, and the rear Airbrake is 50 per cent bigger (but also lighter, as it’s made entirely from carbon fibre).

McLaren says downforce is up 40 per cent, which is why it’s had to stiffen the front springs 27 per cent and 63 per cent at the rear.

The 675LT is also more than 100kg lighter than the 650S.

When deliveries begin in July 2015, McLaren will also be offering an optional McLaren Club Sport pack. Costing £5,090, this adds a titanium roll hoop, four-point harnesses and a fire extinguisher.

Order books for the new 675LT are open now.
