Got a model kit for Christmas? It might seem like a challenge, but we bet it’s not quite as tricky to put together as the Bloodhound SSC.
Designed to exceed 1,000mph and set a new land speed record, a video has been released showing exactly what goes into Bloodhound.
It’s made up of over 3,500 components, including a Rolls-Royce EJ200 jet engine (usually found in the Eurofighter Typhoon, producing a whopping 135,000hp).
Add no fewer than three hybrid rockets, a 550hp supercharged Jaguar V8 engine just for pumping fuel, and two unique Rolex instruments, and you’ve got quite a spectacular model kit.
Runway testing is expected to take place this year, with the world record attempt taking place in South Africa in 2016. But for now, check out this video of every bit that goes into making Bloodhound so spectacular.
