Lexus NXLexus has confirmed it will uncover the production version of its controversial LF-NX Concept crossover at the Beijing Motor Show later this month. Why controversial? Because of that concept car’s looks…

The Lexus LF-NX Concept first appeared at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and jaws immediately dropped: edgy, angular and extreme doesn’t begin to describe the styling.

From the looks of it, although the production NX has been dialled back, it still appears that some of the sharp angles have made it to production. Even under the cloak of darkness, there’s no hiding the ping of those crisply-creased lines…

Lexus says the NX, which will go up against the Audi Q3, Range Rover Evoque and perhaps even the Porsche Macan, will boast “a striking design and use of advanced technologies…

“It will set new standards for other future Lexus models.”

The NX, Lexus’ first compact crossover, is a pretty significant reveal, then: all eyes peeked on the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition on 20 April.
