A new all-electric Lagonda All-Terrain Concept SUV will debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show next month.
The new luxury EV SUV will provide yet another clue to the production version of Aston Martin’s posh off-roader; the brand was relaunched at Geneva last year, with the Lagonda Vision Concept.
Aston Martin says Lagonda will become the world’s first zero-emission luxury brand, and the All-Terrain Concept will be its very first production car. It builds upon the bold cues we first saw in last year’s opening gambit.
Being a zero-emission EV means Aston Martin hasn’t had to squeeze bulky engines, gearboxes and fuel tanks into the Lagonda concept. This means the All-Terrain Concept is promising “extraordinary style and space efficiency combined with a rakish design language”.
The designers, adds the firm, have had “unique freedom”.
Andy Palmer, Aston Martin Lagonda president and group CEO, said: “The ways in which automotive brands reveal new product has changed beyond recognition in recent years, but there’s still something compelling about the unique atmosphere of a great motor show.
“Historically, Geneva has always been good for us – the buzz surrounding the stand last year when we revealed the Lagonda Vision Concept was truly remarkable – so it’s fantastic to return to the scene of such great success with another world debut.”
Palmer says the concept gives “explicit clues regarding what will be the first Lagonda model to enter production” and will show how the revived brand’s models “will radically redefine their sectors of the market”.
The Lagonda All-Terrain Concept will join a busy line-up of other Aston Martins in Geneva; it will be revealed on Tuesday 5 November.
