Jeremy Clarkson suspended from Top Gear

Show will NOT air this Sunday

Jeremy Clarkson suspended from Top Gear

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from the show following an argument with a producer.

A BBC statement said: “Following a fracas with a BBC producer Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended.

“Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.”

BBC News has since reported that the rest of the programmes in the current season of Top Gear will also be dropped.

It’s the latest controversy surrounding Clarkson, following a long line of allegations and complaints over the years.

The presenter is believed to be under a final warning over his behaviour on the popular TV show.

Political commentator Guido Fawkes has since launched an online petition to ‘bring back Clarkson’. It has already been signed by more than 120,000 people.

Several newspapers are also running polls asking whether the BBC should have suspended Clarkson or not. More than 41,000 have already voted on the Daily Telegraph poll – and more than three in four say the BBC should not have suspended Clarkson.
