Jeremy Clarkson has hinted that filming is underway for a new car show following the fracas which led to him being axed from Top Gear.
The star tweeted a picture of a Chevrolet Corvette last night which appeared to show Richard Hammond in the background, as well as a television camera.
Clarkson captioned the picture: “I took this today…”
It’s not clear where the picture was taken, although Top Gear magazine contributing editor Tom Ford appeared to post a photo of the same car yesterday. We believe his pictures were taken at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
The tweets will fuel speculation that the Top Gear trio will establish a new car programme on a rival channel, or through on-demand provider Netflix.
It follows rumours about who could form the next Top Gear line-up – with Jodie Kidd, Philip Glenister and Guy Martin the latest to be mooted.
Last week, Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans revealed that Clarkson, Hammond and May were holding a ‘top secret’ meeting at Goodwood.
A spokesman for the circuit denied the claims – despite the three of them being photographed at a nearby restaurant.
But a source told the Sunday Times that they were actually there to film footage for their lives shows, which have been renamed ‘Clarkson, Hammond and May Live’.
If filming for a new TV programme is underway, it’s good news for James May, who has previously expressed concerns about paying for his new Ferrari 458 Speciale.
