A new Jaguar XE one-off range created by fashion designer Stella McCartney OBE has been revealed ahead of her show at Paris Fashion Week on 29 September.
The Feel XE Experience fleet of Jaguar XEs will ferry VIPs and consumers around Paris during the show – to, says Jaguar, deliver “FEEL XE Experiences that have ben carefully curated by Stella and Jaguar to provide consumers with an Exhilarating taste of cultural highlights that are unique to Paris”.
While this sounds somewhat ambiguous, there’s no denying the Stella McCartney Jaguar XEs are distinctive: each boasts an Ian Callum-designed shape dotted with the superhero print that’s a trademark for the British fashion designer (and will form part of her spring 2015 collection).
“It was interesting to adapt my playful Superhero print for the XE,” she said, “adding a feeling of empowerment to its exhilarating design – I can’t wait to see it on the streets of Paris.
“Jaguar is a British brand that’s full of heritage, charm and one that I’ve admired for years so it’s a pleasure to be finally working directly with them.”
Callum seems to like it, too: “It is a beautiful demonstration of Stella’s commitment to elegance, style as well as functionality and performance which are attributes that I looked to express in the Jaguar XE.”
The Stella McCartney Jaguar XE fleet may see some extended service in the French capital following Paris Fashion Week 2014; the week after is Paris Motor Show 2014, where Jaguar will be fully revealing the new XE range following its recent global debut in London.
To date, we’ve seen the Jaguar XE S range, headlined by the 340hp V6 F-Type-engined range-topper. The rest of the range will be announced at Paris 2014, including more details of the 99g/km CO2 BMW 3 Series beater. We’ll be there to bring you all the details at the show – and more.
