Jaguar XE residual values ‘best in class’

Jaguar XE 'better than Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz'The Jaguar XE has scored a major victory even before its launch with industry experts awarding it better retained values than rivals from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The eagerly anticipated new XE will retain 45 per cent of its list price over three years/30,000 miles, says CAP – better than a BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. Kee Resources and CDL say the XE is ‘best in class’, ahead of all three premium brands.

Such strong retained values, coupled with low servicing, maintenance and repair costs, mean Jaguar is also able to claim the lowest cost of ownership of any premium car over three years/60,000 miles.

Kee Resources says the XE will save “thousands of pounds” in ownership costs – the cash saving over even its nearest rival is £2,215.

The fuel-saving XE 2.0d 163’s sub-100g/km CO2 rating is another money-saving bonus, resulting in lower VED road tax and, significantly, company car Benefit In Kind tax rates than any premium rival.

Compared to a BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Business, a Jaguar XE 2.0d 163 Prestige will save a 40 per cent tax payer £23 in BIK tax every single month (and save their company £4153 in total cost of ownership).

Jaguar Land Rover UK MD Jeremy Hicks said: “An enormous amount of effort has gone into developing everything from the new efficient Ingenium engines to the superb value-for-money service plans.

“The fact that valuation companies rank XE as having some of the strongest residual values in class is the icing on the cake. This is a car that appeals to the head just as much as the heart.”
