With the forthcoming Jaguar XE being driven on text tracks across the world, Jaguar has moved quickly to reveal a heavily disguised photo taken from the rear of the car.
Anyone planning on grabbing a ’spy shot’ may as well stay in bed.
Like the previous teaser shot, the image shows the Jaguar XE covered in a ‘skeleton’ wrap, highlighting its aluminium architecture. There’s also a patriotic Union Flag on the rear wing, plus the obligatory #FEELXE hashtag.
the rear seems more heavily disguised than the front, with plentiful use of body cladding to hide the real shape. However, it’s still possible to make out ‘air breather’ aero slots in the rear bumper, boldly flared round wheel arches and wraparound rear lamps.
According to an email sent by Jaguar UK, a handful of undercover XEs are currently being put through their paces on various test tracks. From speed trials at the Nardo Ring in Italy, to performance handling at the Nürburgring in Germany.
Prices for the XE, which will be the first all-aluminium car ever launched in the premium small saloon sector, will start from £30,000. It will go head-to-head with the BMW 3 Series when it is launched later this year.
Jaguar will undoubtedly reveal more information and more teaser photos during the build-up to the launch, so be sure to follow the #FEELXE hashtag on Twitter.
And, of course, we’ll bring you the latest news as soon as we have it. For now, tell us what you make of the latest Jaguar XE reveal!
