McLaren is reviving its ‘Longtail’ name for a more powerful version of the 650S supercar.
The 675LT will pack – you guessed it – 675hp, combined with improved aerodynamics, increased downforce and less weight.
It’s the first time the name has been used on a McLaren since its 900hp V12 F1 GTR Longtail.
In typical pre-motor show fashion, McLaren is drip-feeding bits of information with more details and extra pictures expected ahead of the Geneva show in March.
We do know it will only be sold as a coupe and deliveries are expected from later in 2015. Expect it to be priced at around £200,000 – set to take on the Ferrari 458 Speciale.
The drip-feeding continues – the latest is: the McLaren 675LT has an exhaust. It’s made out of titanium and has two tailpipes. The manufacturer says it is “designed to optimise performance and reduce weight – another pillar of the LT ethos.”
