Despite its name, the Antarctica doesn’t come with a snowplough – and buyers will have to wait until March before deliveries start.
What buyers do get is a contrasting black, white and orange colour scheme and a bizarre penguin sticker on the side. Inside, the upholstery is grey and orange and privacy glass is fitted as standard – perfect if your passengers aren’t as keen as you are to be seen in the Antarctica Panda 4×4.
A height adjustable driver’s seat and three-passenger rear seat with 60:40 split/folding backrests are also standard on the Antarctica and – like all Panda 4x4s – it comes with various bits to help you through bad weather such as mud and snow tyres, an electronic locking differential and ESC stability control.
If you’re sold on the Panda 4×4 Antarctica – which is powered by either Fiat’s 0.9-litre 85hp petrol engine or the 1.3-litre 75hp diesel – you better act quickly. Only 300 examples are being built for the UK market, and Fiat tells us many are already spoken for.
Prices start at £14,895, or you can buy one on PCP from £229 a month, with a deposit of £229. It’s definitely more affordable than a sleigh.
