Lexus GS F
Lexus has confirmed it will reveal a new ‘track-ready performance model’ at the Detroit Motor Show 2015 – and has today released images confirming this will be a GS F executive performance saloon.

A Lexus rival to the BMW M5, the new GS F is expected to use the same 5.0-litre V8 already seen (and driven by Motoring Research) in the new RC F coupe.

Likely to produce upwards of 500hp, the new GS F may still be a little behind the 560hp BMW in terms of firepower (particularly now M has introduced a 600hp optional upgrade…), but Lexus is suggesting the no-compromise setup of the car will compensate.

Being ‘track-ready’ is a bold claim so hopefully the firm will deliver a highly focused car with stiff suspension and a high-revving, hardcore nature.

The new GS F will certainly provide the able but understated GS range with a suitable halo car – and, Lexus will be hoping, raise awareness of the BMW 5 Series alternative accordingly.

At the moment, the firm is releasing no more details, other than confirming the new high performance car will get its world premiere on 13 January.

Here’s hoping the Japanese premium firm doesn’t disappoint…
