Porsche ChristmasSupercar buyers have spent more in the run up to Christmas than they did when the new 64-plate September registration was released, specialist finance company Magnitude Finance has revealed.

It’s the first time Christmas sales have beaten new car registration sales.

Director of Magnitude Finance, Tim Marlow, said: “Many of our customers are treating their loved ones to some really special Christmas presents. Others are rewarding themselves for a successful year in business and taking advantage of the historically low interest rates.

“Christmas is now one of the busiest periods of the year for those buying supercars and prestige vehicles.”

While the new registration is still important, Marlow said supercar buyers are now not as tied to it as they used to be.

“They just want to have their prize possession as soon as it is ready.”

Range Rover is Christmas number 1

Topping the Christmas supercar list is the Porsche 911, followed by the McLaren 12C and its replacement 650S.

However, the most popular Christmas car brand of all is Range Rover; despite the lack of snow, more buyers chose Range Rover and Range Rover Sport than any other model.

The firm even sold a handful of Lamborghini Aventadors and Huracans: “Unwrapping a Lamborghini or Range Rover will certainly make it a Christmas to remember,” said Marlow.

We can but dream.
