BMW salesman comes to rescue of Cheryl’s elderly relative

When an elderly grandmother fell over in her home, she tried to phone her daughter to help – but accidentally dialled the local BMW dealership.

The call, from Mrs Richardson, was passed onto Stratstone BMW Tyneside’s car sales manager, Dang Vuong, who jumped into a car and went to her rescue.

Speaking to the Newcastle Chronicle, Vuong explained: “I said, I’ll go and make sure she’s OK. At first I thought she was just across the road, it turned out she was about two miles away.

“I drove over there while our receptionist kept her talking on the phone.”

When he got to the house, he found it unlocked, so entered and found Richardson on the floor with the bath ready to overflow.

Vuong added: I told her who I was and then scooped her up and put her on the sofa and covered her with a blanket and waited until her carers and family came.”

When her family arrived, Vuong was making the grandmother a cup of tea – before he left the house and went back to work.

Mrs Richardson’s granddaughter, Sara Tweedy – who is married to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s cousin Mark Tweedy – posted on Facebook to thank Vuong.

The post has since gone viral, with more than 36,000 people ‘liking’ it on Facebook – but Cheryl has yet to join in the praise.
