The South Korean tyre company will supply tyres for entry-level 3 Series fitted with 16-inch wheels, after the ECSTA HM tyre was highly recommended during recent testing.
It’s being seen as a major seal of approval for the ambitious firm. And it knows it.
“We expect this achievement to significantly enhance our brand recognition in the international arena,” said Taek-Gyun Jeong, managing director of OE development at Kumho Tire.
Kumho now wants more OE business from premium car firms, and will be hoping to further develop the relationship with BMW which first began in 2012 – with 17-inch tyres for the MINI John Cooper Works GP.
“We will continue to strengthen this technological prowess and brand power in order to further increase sales of OE products to premium car manufacturers, and generally accelerate our presence in the global market.”
