British luxury car brand Bentley is pairing up with British luxury smartphone brand Vertu to roll out a new range of ultra-posh phones.
The first Bentley Vertu smartphone will be launched in October and Bentley says there will be five designs released during the five-year collaboration.
The two firms promise the new luxury phones will ‘encompass authentic and iconic Bentley design elements and luxury lifestyle services’, and also deliver exclusive Bentley content via a smartphone app. They will “appeal to drivers, travellers and brand enthusiasts, through a partnership that delivers on both technology and touch” added Bentley chairman and CEO Wolfgang Durheimer, above left.
“Today, we see the marriage of two great brands with an international presence and quintessential British heritage and character. The unique experience of luxury and performance inherent in every Bentley has now found further expression in the world’s most desirable mobile phone.”
The phones will be jointly designed by Bentley and Vertu, with the latter’s USPs including stereophonic acoustics and super-sharp images. The firm also promises users the ‘one world phone’ will offer the same high standards wherever in the world it’s used. We just hope the Bentley Vertu phones don’t correspondingly weigh as much as some of Bentley’s sports cars.
