With prices starting at £23,870, the Q3 1.4 TFSI is the most affordable SUV in the Audi range. That price also brings it well into the reach of many Nissan Qashqai buyers.
The new engine is available in SE and S line trim and is exclusively front-wheel-drive. 150hp results in a 0-62mph time of 9.2 seconds (8.9 when equipped with Audi’s S tronic dual clutch automatic gearbox) and an official MPG figure of 47.9 (45.6 with S tronic).
Importantly for company car drivers, the CO2 figure comes in at 137g/km (145g/km for S tronic models) – giving it a BIK rate of 19%.
These figures put it on an equal footing with the more expensive 2.0-litre TDI engine that starts at £25,595.
At the same time, Audi has added a new trim further up the Q3 range. Quattro models can now be specced as S line Plus, which carries a premium of £2,350.
For that, buyers get 19-inch alloys, privacy glass and a choice of seven metallic paint finishes.
Inside, the seats are upholstered in a suave perforated leather and Alcantara mix, and gadgets come in the form of cruise control, Audi’s parking system plus and sat-nav with a 6.5-inch colour display.
