Audi has revealed year-to-date sales have topped 114,000 – making it Britain’s best-selling premium car brand.
The firm says its year-to-date ranking makes it “by far” the most popular posh car brand in the UK, too, something that will be further bolstered by a “burgeoning” order bank.
Such levels of demand are “unprecedented” in the UK, says PR chief Jon Zammett.
BMW? It’s well behind, surprisingly, on 105k. Although there were two BMWs in the UK top 10 best sellers list last month, it seems Audi’s sheer breadth is helping it move ahead overall.
There’s more to come from Audi too, Zammett confirms. Upcoming UK Audi launches include:
- Audi RS 7: December 2013
- Facelifted Audi A8: January 2014
- Audi RS Q3: January 2014
- Audi A3 Cabriolet: March 2014
- Audi S3 Saloon: Spring 2014
The launch of these cars will grow Audi’s model range yet further: already, there are 47 models and 21 separate model ranges. The firm wants to take the former well over 50 and the latter over the 25 mark.
Impressive stuff for the brand that doesn’t rest. It’s already launched seven new models in the UK market – “but before 2013 draws to a close, we plan to reveal a further five more” adds Zammett…
Question is, how are BMW and Mercedes-Benz going to respond?
