The fastest Skoda SUV ever will also command one of the highest prices ever charged for a Skoda: the firm has announced the new Kodiaq vRS will cost from £42,870.
The 240hp 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel boasts all-wheel drive and a standard seven-speed DSG gearbox, for 0-62mph in 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 136mph.
Skoda’s also fitted Dynamic Chassis Control adaptive suspension as standard, plus an ultra-large set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
It’s also loaded the range-topping Kodiaq with equipment to justify the near-£43,000 price tag. Standard features include Alcantara sports seats, an all-digital Virtual Cockpit display, red brake calipers and a black roofliner.
Skoda’s designed a special ‘sport’ view for the instrument pack, placing the speedometer in the centre of the display. Cool… and even cooler is the fact it’s surrounded by the rev counter, Porsche 911-style.
Rear parking sensors are matched by front sensors, and the audio system is ramped up with a Dynamic sound booster. Other vRS-specific features include red contrast stitching inside, which stretches to the door panels, and gloss black finish for the door mirrors and grille.
Dual exhausts at the rear give it a suitably high-performance look.
For those who are keen to buy one of the sharpest and most expensive Skoda SUVs ever, ordering is open from today (3 January). First deliveries are expected from early spring 2019.
