Lotus rolls out three-year free servicing incentive

Jean-Marc-Gales_CEO-of-Group-Lotus-and-Aslam-FarikullahLotus has introduced a three-year free servicing deal on the Elise, Evora and Exige S range in what is hoped will give a big boost in buyer confidence.

The three-year servicing deal runs from July to the end of September 2014, and covers owners for up to 27,000 miles’ routine maintenance. It’s even fully transferrable, should they wish to sell the car before the three-year period is up.

It neatly complements the firm’s three year warranty, which it’s offered for a while now. Rather impressively, this is an unlimited mileage deal, suggesting Lotus really does have confidence in the integrity of its cars. It also includes up to an eight-year chassis perforation warranty.

It should all help to belie the old trouble-related acronym about the firm (you know the one…), while also giving a long-term residual value boost.

Lotus will be hoping it leads to a lift in sales. Last month, its new car registrations fell by more than 22%, to just 17 cars. Year to date registrations are down well over 8%. A consumer-friendly offer like this may help in the short term (and the firm will be hoping it does just that), but new product is needed to sustainably turn things round. They can’t come soon enough.
