Toyota launches 5 year warranty

Toyota is offering a 5 year warranty on all new cars sold from today.

The development, which comes at no extra cost to car buyers, follows a successful special offer trial period.

It is hoped the 5 year, 100,000-mile warranty – which matches the warranty Hyundai has offered for some time – will reinforce customer confidence in the brand, following recent recall events.

Toyota is particularly looking to attract new customers. It will use the extra reassurance of the warranty to support its high quality message.

‘By taking this major initiative we are giving our customers complete peace of mind,’ said Toyota UK MD Miguel Fonseca.

‘We want to reassure them that, in choosing a Toyota, they are getting the best in quality, reliability and durability.’

Toyota is already advertising the new warranty, which is beaten only by Kia’s amazing 7 year warranty offer, in the press and on TV. RA
