Ford Fiesta S1600 special model

Ford_Fiesta_FordFord has launched a strictly limited edition of the UK best-selling Fiesta.

The S1600 is based on the superb Zetec S, only comes in white or blue, and is limited to just 650 models.

Motoring Research is, however, so early in bringing you the news, we don’t even have any images of the model yet! So don’t take the image of this test mule as read…

… because the Fiesta S1600 certainly will be more distinct! See, blue or white body stripes are fitted to contrast with either paint colour. There is also a standard bodykit, large rear spoiler and 17-inch 5-spoke alloys.

The suspension has been lowered and Ford has restricted engine choice to the highest current performer only – the 1.6 120 petrol.

Inside, the S1600 is pretty decadent. Standard leather sports seats are included, along with Ford Motorsport-branded floor mats and scuff plates. This will add to its collectability amongst Fast Ford fans.

It isn’t cheap, though. The list price of the Fiesta S1600 is £16,645, which is a full £1000 more than the standard Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 120. It is also pricier than a standard (and, admittedly, less well-equipped) MINI Cooper 1.6 120RA

What else can you get for the price of a Fiesta S1600 special edition?
